Fall is here and with it comes change. The air becomes cool and crisp. The foliage changes its hues to many different shades of oranges and browns. Fall harvest season is the perfect season for Olive oil and truffles. Living in Italy’s Tuscany region means a trip to the local market is like a trip through wonderland.
My trip through the market yesterday meant I was able to purchase Extra Virgin Olive Oil press on Thursday which is pretty fresh. When Olive oil is this fresh it is at it most potential flavor level and health benefits. My biggest delight came from purchasing fresh truffles both Black and White which sent my taste buds into overdrive.
Fall is the time for comfort food that gives warmth and familiarity of things to come.
