Fast Food isn’t McDonalds
Like everyone that has ever lived or will live I get tired and when I am the last thing on my to do list is making dinner, lunch or breakfast. Going out for a meal seems like the easiest option until I realize that I have to get dressed, walk or take the bus to the resturant and then wait for the food to be ready then pay for the privilege of my fast food. After I consider the time and effort in a moment of hind sight reflection it usually is better to just eat at home and have fast food my way.
A black bean burger with a simple green salad dressed with balsamic vinegar can be ready and on the table in 15 minutes or less. A glass of Vermentino from my local sfuso makes for a tasty lunch. Homemade granola is my go to snack of choice. Granola fits all my three requirements for fast food: salty sweet and crunchy.
If you have ever read this blog before you know that I am a devotee of the slow food movement. Slow roasted lamb with baked poleta and marinated feta makes dinner time the right time for a glass of Pino Grigio and all the time in the world to relax and enjoy life. Next time you get too tired to cook try fast food my way you will never be disappointed.
