This week has been a challenge. For starters my schedule has been impossibly busy. I woke up this morning and decided make eggs benedict. It was my compromise between going out for brunch and completing the very long to do list in preparation for the upcoming week. Slow food is sometimes the best answer for a lazy Sunday.
Fennel salad for lunch and mac and cheese for dinner. Slow food doesn’t mean a long cooking time. It just means taking more time to think about what you are eating rather than rushing the eating. I paired lunch with a Rose from my local Sfuso which is wine shop here in Italy where you can buy wine by the liter. With dinner I had Vermentino. As the weather gets warmer white wine becomes the must for the lunch and dinner table here in Italy along with Rose.
Sitting outside soaking up the sun is a nice way to enjoy a simple meal. A trip through the local farmers market can be the best way to a slow meal worthy of a fellow Gastronomer.
